    Golf Course General Manager

    A beautiful and well-established golf course in the Central New York area is looking to fill the position of “General Manager” to kick off its 2021 season! This is a new and exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate looking to put his or her skills to the test!


    The General Manager is responsible for the coordination, functional management and leadership of golf operations. Golf operations include Retail, Guest Services, Golf Events and Golf Membership Experience.

    Responsibilities and Accountability

    Duties will include but may not be limited to:

    ·          Create, implement, report and analyze the Golf Operations plan including budget and all other golf related financial duties.

    ·          Coordinate specific objectives of the plan with all of the functional departments of the company, most specifically with Guest Services.

    ·          Establish and enforce golf course policies, rules and regulations.

    ·          Oversee all golf programs and activities including tournaments, junior golf programs, golf clinics, special groups, catering and rental of the course pavilion, lead instruction and retail promotions.

    ·          Ensure consistent high standards of customer service across all golf operations including the training and performance management of Team Members.

    ·          Conduct regular team meetings to ensure two-way communication is maintained.

    ·          Other duties as assigned by the owners.

    ·          Must comply with all standard operating procedures and policies.

    General Manager Profile Skills

    *Experience in a senior leadership role at a like-golf facility

    ·          Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

    ·          Excellent inter-personal skills

    ·          Good analytical skills

    ·          Strong leadership qualities

    ·          Is able to work independently as well as part of a team

    ·          Ability to co-ordinate, delegate and negotiate

    ·          Takes responsibility and initiative for projects and completion of work

    ·          Is able to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees and members

    ·          Ability to train, coach and motivate a large and diverse team


    ·          Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent in golf administration, business or closely related field and/or experience.

    ·          Minimum of seven (5) years working within the golf industry, three at a senior management level preferred.

    ·          External knowledge of the golf industry, the golf game and golf etiquette

    ·          Must have own reliable transportation

    ·          Proven capability of working within a structured organization

    Salary Range - $45K-$55K DOE
