Foxfire at Village Green is looking to hire a qualified & experienced Golf Course Superintendent.

Built in 1971, Foxfire is a busy 18 hole  public golf curse designed by Hal Purdy & Son.  The championship course plays from 4,300 to 6,900 yards.  The cart paths are all paved. The majority of the equipment is new Toro equipment.  Semi-automatic Toro irrigation on all greens, Tees and single row on the Fairways.  The irrigation system is 20 years old.  Located just 10 miles northwest of Syracuse, NY, this well maintained layout meanders through a planned community of townhouses, patio homes, single family houses and school yards.

Current position is seasonal (9months per year) Salary is $60,000-$70,000 DOE with association dues & possible health insurance.  Annual budget $300,000,  Experienced GC maintenance crew of 6 and nice maintenance facility stocked with the latest Toro turf equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee all daily golf course maintenance &  agronomists operations

- Develop & execute seasonal maintenance programs & schedules for greens , tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers  and surrounding landscapes

- Monitor turf health and overall course conditions

- Manage & supervise the GC maintenance staff

- Maintain & manage equipment, irrigation system & maintenance facility

- Be willing to work hands on with grounds crew on daily basis

- Work closely with course owners on gc conditions, budgets, projects, staffing and capital improvements

Qualifications:.

- Previous experience as a GC Superintendent or Assistant GCS

-Strong knowledge of Turfgrass management & golf course agronomy

- Experience managing & supervising a grounds crew

- Possess a valid NYS-DEC Pesticide Applicators license for Turfgrass

- Valid drivers license

-Strong work ethics  and attention to detail
