GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
Brookville Country Club is a private, member-owned, full-service country club located on the scenic North Shore of Long Island, founded in 1922. The 18-hole golf course is a Seth Raynor design and features numerous signature holes. In recent years, the Club has advanced key elements of its long-term master plan, including the rebuilding of all 107 bunkers and 2 greatly expanded short game areas, further enriching the golf experience for its members. Last year saw the installation of a new state-of-the-art irrigation system.
Brookville Country Club is a full-scale facility offering championship golf, Pickleball courts, a pool complex, multiple practice areas, and a full-service clubhouse. The Club has a very active and engaged membership, a robust tournament calendar, and a strong lineup of charity and corporate outings that contribute to a dynamic, year-round operation.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Brookville Country Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent or rising star Assistant Superintendent to lead its agronomy team into this exciting new era for Brookville. The Superintendent will deliver high-caliber playing conditions through sound agronomy, modern technology, and strong team leadership. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of a classic course while joining a progressive and supportive leadership team.

The Superintendent will be a key member of that team, with the full support of the General Manager, Green Committee, and Board in setting strategy, building culture, and driving excellence. Responsibilities Include
• Providing hands-on leadership of the golf course maintenance operation, including daily oversight of a team of turf professionals.
• Overseeing all aspects of agronomic execution, including mowing, fertility, pest control, irrigation, equipment care, and IPM strategies.
• Fostering a positive team culture through recruitment, training, mentorship, and professional development
• Effectively managing and communicating with a predominantly Spanish-speaking staff in a respectful and inclusive environment
• Maintaining elite-level playing conditions across all surfaces, with emphasis on greens consistency, presentation, and overall performance
• Managing the annual maintenance budget and identifying cost-effective practices that support high standards0
• Leading the care of cool-season turfgrasses, with a primary focus on Poa annua greens and mixed-species tees and roughs
• Utilizing modern, data-informed tools such as moisture meters, clipping yield tracking, PB Coach, Pace GPS, the Coverage System for application tracking, and ABS Task Tracker for crew scheduling and task management
• Partnering with the Green Committee, General Manager, and Director of Golf to align course conditioning with Club goals and member expectations
• Collaborating with the golf professional staff to ensure proper daily setup, tournament preparation, and pace-of-play considerations
• Managing all landscaped and non-golf grounds, including clubhouse surroundings, ornamentals, walkways, and seasonal flower programs
• Maintaining winter accessibility through snow and ice management of service roads and key walkways •
Supporting the development of assistants, interns, and seasonal staff to help grow the next generation of turf professionals
• Serving as a steward of the Club’s long-term vision—balancing preservation with innovation & detail with efficiency Qualifications
• Current Golf Course Superintendent or accomplished Assistant Superintendent with leadership experience at a private club or tournament-level facility
• Degree or certificate in agronomy, turfgrass management, horticulture, or a related field preferred
• Expertise in cool-season turfgrass management, especially Poa annua, with the ability to adapt cultural practices to changing conditions
• Demonstrated success leading diverse, seasonal teams with a focus on training, retention, and culture-building
• Proficiency in irrigation management, including hands-on experience with Toro Lynx Network VP systems and HDPE piping infrastructure
• Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience managing operating budgets and capital planning
• Strong communicator and collaborator, able to partner effectively with club leadership, General Manager, golf operations, and the membership
• Experience managing full club grounds, including landscaping, flower beds, and snow removal
• Hands-on, proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment while staying grounded and team-focused

• Grounds staff: approximately 15 seasonal employees supported by a year-round team, including assistant superintendents and mechanic
