GCSA of New York Golf League

The purpose of the GCSA Golf League is to enhance and increase interactions among GCSA of New York members through the game of golf. Simply put, we want everyone to get to know as many fellow chapter members as possible!


    Competition Format

    All matches will be Four-Ball Match Play (best ball of two).

    League Play

    • Matches are scheduled by the Chapter
    • Pairings will be based on regionality – as much as possible
    • Each team will play one match per month in June, July, August, and September
    • Matches are 9 holes, unless both teams agree to play 18

    ADDITONAL OPTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

    Chapter Event Play

    • Teams may play matches during any Chapter Event or Meeting that includes golf
    • Examples include:
      • o Chapter Kick Off Outing (West) – River Oaks
      • o Chapter Kick Off Golf Outing (East) – Beaver Meadoes
      • o Walk & Talk at Oswego
      • o Walk & Talk at Sycamore
      • o Other qualifying events
    • Teams may select their own opponents, provided both teams are registered for the league, yet we encourage you play with teams from other regions
    • The Chapter is also happy to assist in setting up matches
    • Matches may be 9 or 18 holes, depending on the event format


    Open Play

    • Teams may independently schedule matches on their own
    • Both teams must be registered for the league
    • Two teams may play each other only once at this level
    • Matches may be 9 or 18 holes, as mutually agreed upon
    • Last day for Open Play match: September 30
     POINTS  Win  Lose  Tie
     League Play  2  1  1.5
     Chapter Event Play  2  1  1.5
     Open Play  1.5  .5  1
    • Top 4 teams with the most points as of October 1 will advance to the Championship Matches
    • Teams may count points from up to 6 Matches – if more than 6 matches are played, use the best 6
    • Finals at Yahnundasis Golf Club – October 26
    • Front 9:  Semi Final Matches
       Back 9:  Finals

    Other Notes

    • Teams may substitute 1 player for any match.  However, the substitute may not be on another League Team.  Plus you can always play as a single
    • Ties for the top 4 spots will be broken by:
    • Can the teams play at Yahnundasis
      Head to head records
      Most total wins
      Records vs. common opponents
      Chipoff at Yahnundasis before play

    Registration

    • 2-person teams – choose your own partner

    • $50 per team – 100% is used to cover League expenses and prizes

    • All players should have a USGA Handicap Index

    • Registration deadline: May 10
