    Crag Burn Golf Club - 2nd Assistant Position

    Crag Burn Golf Club is a private 18 hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and situated about 15 miles SE of Buffalo. Crag Burn is a golf centric club where the main focus is on the golf course. The membership is dedicated to enhancing the golf experience through continual projects and renovations to the property. The course is currently in the midst of a full tee renovation that includes the reconstruction of all tee complexes, and redesign of tee boxes. The club has full intentions of completing several renovations and projects over the next few years and ultimately creating a long term master plan.

    Crag Burn is currently ranked in the top 30 golf courses in NY by Golf Digest. The club hosted the 2019 NY State Amateur Championship and is host to USGA qualifying events every year. A majority of the membership are low handicap golfers and intend on bringing more championships to Crag Burn in the future.

    The 2nd Assistant will work closely with the Superintendent and First Assistant to plan, direct and monitor all aspects of maintenance of the golf course. Responsibilities include supervisory tasks, record keeping, crew management, calibration, chemical applications, irrigation troubleshooting, water management and cultural practices. The 2nd assistant will be asked to attend weekly management meetings and monthly greens committee meeting to provide input and gain experience off the golf course. Candidates will have a monthly sit down with Superintendent to discuss their goals and progression to ensure they are reaching their full potential.

    He/she will be relied on heavily to motivate, train and set the standard for the rest of the employees. This is an opportunity to join a growing team that is based on responsibility, accountability and hard work.

    Requirements

    2 or 4 year degree/certificate in turf management or related field. Current students who are graduating soon are encouraged to apply. 1-2 years experience in golf course management. Recent and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply. Must be a motivated and passionate individual with an eagerness to advance your career in the golf course industry.
